Thanks To Our Learning Partners
Tim Crook from Central Otago District Council
took us on a tour of the Waste Water Treatment
facility on Richards Beach Road in Cromwell.

He explained to us how the water is cleaned before it is returned to the lake. He told us what a problem flushed wet wipes can be.

Gareth Stanger talked to us about how we get water to our taps in Cromwell. We learned how the water is filtered and chlorinated to make it safe to drink.

Gareth works for Hynds in Cromwell. He showed us a video of a large water resevoir he helped engineer in Australia.
Anna Robinson is our local Enviroschool Facilitator. She was excited to bring her "Enviroscape" into school so we could see that way that pollution enters our water ways.
A huge thank you to the the parents who went with us on our bus trip to the Water Treatment Facility: Andrew Keenleyside, Jane Henderson, Scott Sutherland, Luke Win, Sarah Stanger, Rebecca Casey and Melissa McEldowney.
